Gary Dunn: Lead guitar/Keyboards/Backing vocals.

Gary played in various cover bands in clubs, pubs and venues around the North East of England in the late 70’s and early 80’s playing mainly rock guitar.

He got his first noteworthy break in March 1986 when he got a call from the ‘enigmatic’ and talented singer songwriter Martin Stephenson to join his band ‘The Daintees’.

The Daintees recorded four albums for London and Capitol records in Europe and the USA between 1985 and 1992. It’s fair to say that the challenge of ‘The Daintees’ widened his repertoire requiring Gary to explore a wider range of guitar styles and become more versatile as a player.

When that line up disbanded Gary was asked to teach guitar as a visiting lecturer at The Shiney Row Centre in Houghton –le-Spring where he now teaches music full time.

Gary has performed at some major venues and festivals around Europe, the USA and Japan including Glastonbury and Reading and has recorded many sessions for commercial releases, radio and TV.

In 1986 Gary had a stint on bass guitar with ’The Toy Dolls’ again touring and recording around the world until year 2000 when he continued his teaching career at Shiney Row, Newcastle College and schools around the North East, he also teaches guitar at the Weekend school at The Sage Gateshead and guitarweekends.co.uk.

Gary has a Degree in Creative Arts Practice from Leeds Metropolitan University and has also deputised for many guitarists on the North East gig circuit but now plays full time with the Aaron Bayley band.
